FAQ
How do I book onto a course?
Ayres Gipson
17 Lyncombe Hill
Bath BA2 4PF
Please make cheques payable to 'Ayres Gipson'.
What if I am going to be late or get lost getting to a workshop venue?
On workshop days, you can call me on the mobile: 07947 301 827.
Will courses be canceled for lack of enrollment?
Workshops with enrollment of two or more people will generally go ahead, but may be shortened from one to two days in length. My intention is to show up for every scheduled event and do what I love – share my knowledge of and passion for massage and bodywork.
What is 'scholarship', and how do I apply?
Honestly, I'm still trying to figure that out, but I assure you it does exist. :-) My vision is to set aside a fund that would subsidise the course fees of those who have a strong desire to pursue this work and are in legitimate financial need. You apply by saying you would like scholarship, at the time of booking. We'll work something out.
Who is this Ayres guy, and is he the only intuit tutor?
Currently I, Ayres, am the sole administrator, webmaster, programmes director, and tutor for intuit. For more information about my experience and training, feel free to link to my bio and CV, also on this website. Of course, the best way to learn more about the approaches of this work, details of a course's content, and the like, is to call me at 01225 484 056.
Do you practice 'Holistic Massage'?
While the first thousand hours or so of my bodywork training was completed at schools in the US, I am proud to say that I am a registered, insured member of Massage Training Institute – a national examining body and a professional association specialising in holistic massage here in the UK. My approach to working with the human body and being is holistic and inclusive in the truest sense. 'Integrative Massage' and 'Integrative Bodywork' are terms I have adopted to encompass my particular style and approaches to practice.
What is 'Integrative Bodywork'?
Integrative Bodywork is an inclusive, eclectic practice that works primarily through the body and includes any combination of somatic and energetic therapies woven together to create a practice session. Much, much more information is available on this website's 'propaganda pages'.
What is CPPD?
Continuing Personal and Professional Development courses are designed for already-qualified practitioners who would like to deepen or broaden their existing massage/bodywork practice. You certainly do not need to be in professional practice to take these courses, and it is important that you've had some supervised training or a supervised or self-structured apprenticeship in a massage or bodywork form. Some basic knowledge of human anatomy and physiology is an essential prerequisite, as AP&P concepts will be reviewed as we create a context for course content. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Ayres at 01225 484 056 or email.
Do these courses satisfy CPD/CEU requirements for my professional organisation?
Every participant receives a certificate of attendance showing the course name and the total number of supervised classroom hours. All courses fulfill the CPD requirements of Massage Training Institute, and may be used to fulfill the requirements of most other professional bodies. I'm still researching that one.
Do you lead professional training courses?
One day I may. The bulk of my teaching experience as a bodyworker has been in leading and assisting 150 - 200 hour certification courses. Currently I feel passionate about working with people who have no background in massage and bodywork and those who would like to deepen or broaden your existing bodywork practice, whether you are a professional or a massage hobbyist.
Feel free to call Ayres Gipson at 01225 484056 with any queries you may have about intuit programmes. To reserve your place in the workshop, please download the booking form (48 KB) then send the completed form and a
deposit by cheque for £20 (one-day workshops) £40 (two-day workshops) or £60 (three-day workshops) per
